If neighborhood groups have at least 3 parents, each parent can take on the role of a specialist in a specific area of study, i.e. a math specialist, a language arts specialist, and a nature study specialist. When it is their turn to teach, they give a lesson about their topic during the practice and apply segment of the day. Students will then practice the concept during the coming week. See resource ideas below for math, language arts, and nature study
The Hearthstone Plan website has several resources to choose from for each topic. Parents may select the curriculum that works best for their child. The resources below work very well.
